Design for Growth - Conversion Rate Optimization - Funnel Architecture
Designing for Revenue:
Scalable Funnel Architecture & CRO Across 200+ Brands
Most sales funnels look like generic, bloated templates from 2017: screaming neon headline banners, clunky multi-field forms, and desktop layouts that break down on mobile screens where 80%+ of paid ad traffic actually lands.
At GoFunnels, we built end-to-end revenue engines inside GoHighLevel for high-growth businesses doing $500K to $50M+ annually. Rather than treating funnels as one-off graphic design tasks, I treated every project as a conversion engineering challenge. My team and I created hundreds of bespoke funnels across B2B SaaS, professional services, health & functional medicine, and high-ticket consulting. Refining a repeatable design framework that paired consumer-grade polish with aggressive direct-response psychology.

The Challenge
Clients arrived with solid offers and substantial ad budgets, but were bleeding revenue due to three foundational UX breakdowns:
Mismatched Traffic Temperature & Intent: Cold traffic was repeatedly greeted with high-friction commitment requests (like 45-minute booking forms or $2,000 checkout buttons) before value or trust was established.
The "Template Disease" & Cognitive Overload: Wall-to-wall text, low-contrast typography, and chaotic visual elements overwhelmed visitors, causing immediate bounces within the first 4 seconds.
Mobile Clutter & Handoff Lag: Pages designed solely on desktop monitors suffered from awkward button reachability, slow image load speeds, and broken form fields on smartphones.

The Funnel Architecture Framework
01. Traffic Intent & Friction Mapping
Before opening Figma, I analyzed the client’s primary traffic source (Meta Ads, Google Search, YouTube, or warm email lists). Mapping visitor skepticism levels dictated the layout structure and whether an immediate, single-screen booking card or an educational long-form narrative was needed to warm up cold prospects.
02. Micro-Commitments & Progressive Disclosure
To eliminate form abandonment, I replaced monolithic application forms with interactive, step-by-step micro-commitments. Breaking user qualification into bite-sized questions (e.g., interactive quiz cards or 2-step booking modals) significantly decreased cognitive friction and raised lead capture rates.
03. Mobile-First Ergonomic Layouts
Because direct-response traffic is predominantly mobile, every wireframe was designed around single-thumb reach zones. Sticky CTA bars, high-contrast tap targets (minimum 48px height), and collapsible FAQs ensured on-the-go visitors could scan, comprehend, and convert without zooming or pinching.
04. GoHighLevel Design System & Component Library
To design dozens of high-end funnels every month without quality slipping, I created a modular Figma design system tailored specifically for GoHighLevel's CSS container logic. This allowed our development team to translate complex typography scales, Bento grids, and animated badge elements into live production without visual bugs.

These are amazing. Tell your design team that they are absolute superstars. The speed and visual polish blew our client away, and the conversion numbers spoke for themselves immediately."

What I Learned
Design is a direct revenue driver: In conversion design, aesthetics without clear information hierarchy fail. Visual craft must serve clarity, pacing, and frictionless user progression.
Designing for platforms requires technical empathy: Mastering GoHighLevel’s underlying layout engine allowed me to design ambitious, custom-feeling UIs that engineers could build in days rather than weeks.
High-volume repetition builds intuition: Designing hundreds of funnels across 14+ different industries gave me a deep, instinctual understanding of user skepticism, visual objections, and what triggers an immediate conversion.
